Each spool of in-ground dog fence comes with 500 ft./150 meters of 20 ga., solid core, copper wire rated for direct burial. This in-ground pet fence wire covers up to 1/3 ac. per spool. The length of in-ground pet fence wire needed will vary due to amount of twisted wire and the layout you select. A waterproof connection is needed for proper performance when adding additional boundary in-ground pet fence wire. PetSafe recommends using their Splice Kits (RFA-366) which include wire nuts and gel-filled capsules.
